The dangerous liaisons

Anne Marie Dragosits, harpsichord Kroll, Lyon 1770

Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Choderlos de Laclos has transported countless generations of readers back in time to the decadent atmosphere of the world inhabited by the French nobility shortly before the Revolution. While the famous cinema adaptations have drawn on de Laclos’ work to produce a dramatic tale of strong images, the harpsichordist Anne Marie Dragosits has chosen a different route; presenting an equally dramatic series of harpsichord pieces composed from the time of de Laclos, she creates an intimate musical re-reading of the novel which is by its nature highly personal.
